La Mitre 10 Cup, anteriormente llamado National Provincial Championship es el campeonato nacional de liga de rugby en Nueva Zelanda. Esta competencia provincial kiwi, arrancó a fines de Julio y se extenderá hasta octubre. El fixture completo y los equipos participantes a continuación.
La primera edición tuvo lugar en el año 1976, y ha tenido varios formatos en su historia, si bien en 2006 se hizo el último cambio para crear dos divisiones, llamándose Air NZ Cup exclusivamente a la categoría principal, compuesta por 14 equipos, y quedando los restantes 12 clubes de la antigua competición relegados a un campeonato no profesional de inferior categoría. Estos 14 equipos son representantes de sus respectivas federaciones regionales, a modo de campeonato entre provincias.
2010 es la primera temporada en la que el torneo se denomina ITM Cup, por motivos de patrocinio. Hasta el año 2009 fue conocida como Air NZ Cup por el mismo motivo. A partir de 2016 el torneo se denomina Mitre 10 Cup.
Los equipos participantes son: Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Counties Manukau, Hawke´s Bay, Manawatu, North Harbour, Northland, Otago, Southland, Taranaki, Tasman, Waikato y Wellington.
Auckland, último campeón y más ganador de esta competencia en su historial, hará su debut frente a North Harbour en condición de local.
La Mitre 10 Cup toma mucha relevancia en Nueva Zelanda, ya que contará con grandes figuras del último Súper Rugby, con nombres de alto nivel los cuales no fueron tenidos en cuenta para formar parte del plantel de los All Blacks que disputará la próxima Copa del Mundo, pero que sí representarán en algunos casos a los equipos provinciales de las franquicias como Crusaders, Hurricanes, Chiefs, Blues y Highlanders.
Si bien el tipo de formato de juego es todos contra todos, el torneo se divide en dos grupos (Premiership/Championship)
