Como cada año desde 1954, el Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos realizó la entrega de los Premios Olimpia a los deportistas argentinos más destacados y en esta ocasión el galardón principal quedó en manos de Luis Scola, el basquetbolista que actualmente juega en el Olimpia Milano de la Serie A de Italia y que fue una pieza fundamental en el subcampeonato que consiguió la selección en el Mundial disputado en China.
